#DissolutionHallofFame: Boston Schools Fund
As we shine a spotlight on closure, I also want to honor the organizations who have made the brave and intentional choice to wind down. These are the leaders who embody what it means to put mission above self.
So please join me in honoring the work and wind down of the Boston Schools Fund.
"When BSF (Boston Schools Fund) set out to create a new 5-year plan, we reached clear, sobering conclusions...BSF had two options: radically overhaul BSF's mission, vision, and strategy to meet the new conditions or wind down in a manner consistent with our founding. We chose the later."
You can read their beautiful Final Report here.
As we re-launch the #DissolutionHallofFame, a place where we honor the legacies of the organizations that have come and gone, we want to hear from those of you who have walked this path. What do you want people to know about the choice you made to close? How do you want to be remembered?
It's one thing to archive your site or create a closure landing page (and yes - closing organizations should do this!), but it's a whole other thing to be honored alongside your peers as an inductee into the #DissolutionHallofFame.
We're collecting stories of dissolution and sharing them to inspire others. Do you have an organization to nominate? Share it in the comments or send me a DM.
