#MergerMondays: Exceptional Family Resources + ARISE Inc.
Empowerment and access to valuable resources is key to making sure any community can achieve their dreams.☁️ What better way to improve this access than by merging the resources of two successful organization?
Two Syracuse, NY nonprofits are merging to increase access and independence for those living with disabilities. Exceptional Family Resources (EFR) and ARISE Inc. are partnering to increase and improve the resources and services for people they serve. 💫The combined nearly 100 years since the founding of both organizations have been full of opportunities to ensure that everyone, regardless of disability, has the power to live a free and independent life. 👏
EFR has been working since its founding in 1974 to raise the expectations of quality of life for those with disabilities. Through the development and implementation of information groups, respite programs, social/ recreation programs and a merger with Onondaga Community Living in 2022, EFR has expanded and optimized its person-centered services for people with disabilities and their families.
ARISE Inc. was founded just a few years later in 1979 and has been providing opportunities and services to empower people with disabilities ever since. 💪 Based on the Independent Living Philosophy, ARISE Inc. is organized and directed by people with disabilities.
These organizations are “incredibly well-matched,” Tania Andersen, CEO of ARISE says. This strategic decision to partner will “not only maintain, but also surpass the highest standards of care,” says Bruce Drake, CEO of EFR. He also stresses the collaboration will foster a robust and secure work environment for all team members. 🙌
