#MergerMondays: Habitat for Humanity Camden County + South Central New Jersey

My wife and I moved a couple of weeks ago and moving is stressful (to say the least.) Even though we spent that first night sleeping on the floor, I was filled with appreciation and awe at the roof over my head. Having a home to call your own is a special thing and that’s why this week we are celebrating the collaboration of two Habitat chapters in New Jersey.

Happy #mergermondays to Habitat for Humanity of South Central New Jersey and Habitat For Humanity Of Camden County who announced their #mergerwithamission this week. ❤️ #grateful for the work of Habitat for Humanity International to get people #home. 🏡

Enabling Habitat to “build more and get more funding” highlights the potential for greater impact that can come from taking your partnership to the next level. There’s some stigma out there that mentioning #merger to funders will scare them away, but in my experience, most will lean in eagerly and might even offer their support. Believe it or not, access to more funding is one of the common reasons why nonprofits merge.

If you’re looking for resources to fund your merger, check out the Sustained Collaboration Initiative (or start one in your city!)
